Am I eligible?
Answer some simple questions to see if you may be able to apply for the NDIS. These questions are just a guide, the final decision about eligibility is up to the NDIA
How do I apply
Applying to the NDIS is how you let us know you want to become an NDIS participant. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can ask to become a participant by completing an Access Request Form.
Australia's Disability Strategy 2021-2031 recognises all levels of government are responsible for supporting people with disability to reach their full potential, as equal members of the community. It sets out priorities and plans for all governments to work with the community, business, and people with disability to implement and realise its vision in a coordinated and targeted way.
The role of families and carers is often essential in supporting people with disability to realise their goals, so it is important to include them in discussions about supports.
The types of supports that the NDIS may fund for participants include:
- Daily personal activities
- Transport to enable participation in community, social, economic and daily life activities
- Workplace help to allow a participant to successfully get or keep employment in the open or supported labour market
- Therapeutic supports including behaviour support
- Help with household tasks to allow the participant to maintain their home environment
- Help to a participant by skilled personnel in aids or equipment assessment, set up and training
- Home modification design and construction
- Mobility equipment, and
- Vehicle modifications.
