The Skills to Live Your Life on Your Own Terms
Independence is built one practical skill at a time. Cooking a meal. Taking a bus. Managing money. Advocating for yourself. These are not small things. They are the foundation of a self-determined life, and every one of them can be learned with the right support.
Support 24x7 delivers life skills development to participants across South Australia, building the real-world capabilities that make daily life more manageable and gradually reduce reliance on formal support.
SKILLS WE BUILD
Managing Daily Routines
Establishing reliable routines for mornings, meals, personal care, and evening wind-down provides structure and reduces the cognitive load of daily life. We support participants in building and maintaining routines that work, adjusted as life changes.
Navigating Community Services
Knowing how to access a GP, use a bank, engage with Centrelink, or find local support services is practical knowledge that dramatically expands your independence. We build this understanding in real contexts, visiting actual services together and practising the interactions that matter.
Communication and Self-Advocacy
Being able to express your own needs clearly and advocate for your rights is one of the most valuable skills a person with disability can develop. We work on communication in real situations: medical appointments, service interactions, planning conversations. We build confidence as well as competence.
Independent Living Skills
The practical capabilities that make living independently sustainable: basic cooking, household management, budgeting, and looking after your own wellbeing. We teach these in the real environment where they need to be used, your home and your community, because that is where skills actually stick.
Life skills are not taught in a classroom. They are built in the moments of real life, with the right support alongside you.
