NDIS
The NDIS is Australia’s first national Scheme for people with disability.
It provides funding directly to individuals.
There are around 4.3 million Australians who have a disability. Within the next five years the NDIS will provide an estimated 500,000 Australians who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services. For many people, it will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

Answer some simple questions to see if you may be able to apply for the NDIS. These questions are just a guide, the final decision about eligibility is up to the NDIA
How do I apply
Applying to the NDIS is how you let us know you want to become an NDIS participant. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can ask to become a participant by completing an Access Request Form.

Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031 recognises all levels of government are responsible for supporting people with disability to reach their full potential, as equal members of the community. It sets out priorities and plans for all governments to work with the community, business, and people with disability to implement and realise its vision in a coordinated and targeted way.
The role of families and carers is often essential in supporting people with disability to realise their goals, so it is important to include them in discussions about supports.
